Contract Duration: 3 months
Salary: £375/day
Are you an experienced accountant looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact? We're seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Principal Accountant. This role offers the chance to contribute to the efficient and effective provision of our comprehensive Finance Function.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and deliver services in alignment with the finance service vision and objectives.
- Collaborate with senior council officers to contribute to strategic planning and service delivery.
- Take specific responsibility for complex financial areas such as Adult Social Care, Waste, and Children's Social Care.
- Ensure finance and performance are analyzed and reported together for key areas.
- Oversee technical financial accounting areas such as asset and lease accounting to ensure compliance with regulations and inform financial planning.
Requirements:
- Professional Accountancy qualification (CCAB) with relevant post-qualification experience.
- Significant experience in budgeting, statutory accounting, and providing financial advice to non-finance managers.
- Experience providing complex financial advice to senior non-finance officers and managing finance staff.
- Proficient in budget development, monitoring, and closing accounts for large public sector services.
- Experience working with strategic leadership groups such as Boards of Directors or Trustees.
