Liaison Psychiatry is the branch of psychiatry thatspecialises in the interface between medicine and psychiatry.

Liaison Psychiatry Services nationwide are experiencingsignificant investment and we are in the privileged position in Devon of beingable to further enhance and develop our already well-established LiaisonServices within the North Devon District Hospital.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 SeniorMental Health Practitioners who wishes to contribute within our LiaisonPsychiatry service at this exciting time.

You will have a key role in contributing to the mentalhealth care of people in the general hospital and we welcome applications fromall mental health professionals, including Nurses, Occupational Therapists andSocial Workers.

There are full time posts available that cover a Core 15 serviceworking across in hours, out of hours and weekend shifts. The current servicehours are Monday to Friday 7am to 10pm and weekends and bank holidays 9am to10pm.

You will be well supported within the team and encouraged todevelop your clinical skills and knowledge base within a stimulating learningenvironment.

Main duties of the job

You will be working within a Senior Mental HealthPractitioner role helping support referrals from colleagues within the NorthDevon District Hospital. You will be working within a busy team who completeboth assessment and consultation work with people who require support for theirmental health needs.

It will be your job to make specialist mental healthassessments, and devise interventions that will help people to recover. Youwill play a key role in a dynamic multidisciplinary team, working with multipleagencies on a daily basis.

You will be confident working with supervision, with theknowledge to devise individual recovery plans for the people you see. Itsimportant that you can communicate effectively, not only with your colleagues,but the people you care for, their families and carers. You will be at thecentre of their care.

You will be an experienced mental health professional with aprofessional mental health qualification (RMN, CQSW / ASW, BSc/Diploma in OT,SROT)

We will help you grow in the role, and can provide a rangeof training opportunities, including CPD modules that can help you develop theskills you need to thrive in the job.
