Job description
We are seeking a diligent and detail–oriented Financial Analyst to join our client's team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the review and enhancement of their services, systems, and processes, ensuring optimal value for stakeholders and customers.
Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to the review and development of service effectiveness, systems, processes, and records, suggesting improvements for best value
- Serve as the primary customer contact for designated service areas, establishing and nurturing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in researching, analysing, and reporting financial and management information
- Prepare annual revenue and capital estimates in consultation with departmental budget managers, ensuring compliance with corporate procedures and financial regulations
- Support and advise budget managers in managing, monitoring, and reporting financial performance, providing forecasts as needed
- Perform regular financial reconciliations and rectify any errors
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of accounts in accordance with professional standards and statutory requirements
- Aid in identifying financial risks and pressures, contributing to the development of the Medium Term Financial Plan
- Assist in producing business cases, evaluating and highlighting financial implications
- Complete financial returns and processes, including grant claims and VAT self–certification
Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Proven experience in financial analysis and reporting
- Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and procedures
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
