Teacher of Religious Studies/ Citizenship

Full time (commencing September 2024) TLR available for the right candidate

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and innovative teacher of Religious Studies and Citizenship, on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to achieving the best possible outcomes for our students and will be a team player who is determined to make a significant contribution to raising attainment across the department.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs and can offer excellent professional development, guidance and support. We are a friendly, progressive department who enjoy working collaboratively to create the best possible learning experience for our students.  

The successful candidate will have: 

• An enthusiasm for Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics as well as Citizenship

• The ability and desire to teach KS3, GCSE and A Level students.

• The ability to support and raise the expectations and aspirations of students of all abilities.

• A desire to share experiences and good practice with colleagues.

Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning, and its standards of discipline and respect. The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. The College is part of the Aspire Learning Trust working together with Park Lane and New Road Primary Schools, also in Whittlesey, to help every child achieve their full potential and prepare them for their next educational steps, to teach them kindness and respect for all and to equip them to play a full role within society.
