Claydon High School
Location
Ipswich, Suffolk | United Kingdom
Job description
“Design is thinking made visual” (Saul Bass)
We are looking for a well-qualified and motivated teacher to teach Design Technology across both key stages. You will be passionate about teaching their subject, committed to motivating students to reach their full potential and will contribute to our whole school development and the raising of standards.
You will be joining a small and very supportive department and supporting the head of faculty in improving student outcomes further.
The post would be suitable for a new entrant to the profession or a colleague seeking to broaden their experience. Claydon High School provides an excellent support programme for newly appointed staff. Visitors and prospective colleagues often comment on the warm welcome they receive here and as a staff we work collaboratively together and support each other.
The Design Technology faculty have developed curriculum provision at KS3 and are looking forward to embedding the new programmes of study at GCSE. You will be looking to contribute to these developments, able to demonstrate an innovative and interactive style of teaching and contribute to the wider life of the school.
Claydon High School is a popular, oversubscribed and friendly comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich; we are situated close to the A14 with easy transport links across Suffolk and into Essex. We are a small school with 775 students on roll which means that there is a close working relationship with all the staff and students in the school. As part of the Penrose Learning Trust we also work closely with other schools within the MAT to achieve “excellence through collaboration”.
