Job description

We are looking for a Vehicle Package Engineer who would be responsible for progressing the geometric integration of their zone of the vehicle and for protecting the attributes of the customer. This person needs to have 5+ years of relevant experience and would be collaborating with the engineering and design teams. We are looking for an organized, structured, and analytical individual with great inter-personal skills. Location of the role can either be in our UK or Croatian office.

Who and what will you be working with?

This person will be working in the Concept and Package team, reporting to the Head of the department. Building strong working relationships with cross functional stakeholders.

We’re using Microsoft Office, Atlassian and other tools to keep our work running smoothly, so you can expect to deal with things like MS Teams, JIRA tickets, Smartsheet, etc., on daily basis. 

What will you be responsible for?

• Responsible for master section development
• Ensure vehicle concepts meet all relevant legal requirements
• Ensure concept layout is aligned to core engineering assumptions
• Ensure high level compatibility of concept assumptions
• Ensure any deviations from attribute targets are reported along with impact assessment
• Responsible for the delivery of a vehicle package zone from single theme approval to production release
• Ensure a consistent approach, and drive to resolution of issues management and reporting and timely escalation of issues where required
• Monitoring and protecting of package attribute to support the customer vision
• Focus on delivery of all package gateway deliverables including reporting of package attribute status
• Hardpoint management and delivery through production release
• Master section development
• Work with virtual series assessments and drive issues to closure
• Work with Studio Engineering and functional engineering teams to resolve package, hardpoint and master section compatibility issues affecting surface development with innovative solutions
• Completion of geometric compatibility assessment
• Support of robust pre-production builds. Track and report any issues found to closure
• Lead investigations with cross functional teams resulting in innovative and efficient package solutions
• Work with Vehicle Package Lead to ensure Package lessons learned are driven into future product design

Who are we looking for?

To help achieve our goals, we need someone with:

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of a Vehicle Package team
• Understanding and experience of Virtual Series
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience in a “Start-up” business is desirable
• Experience using NX and Teamcenter desirable
• Knowledge of global vehicle homologation requirements
• Proficient user of Teamcenter & Vis Mockup with good knowledge of NX or equivalent CAD software preferable
• Familiar with MS Office tools, Jira, Jama or equivalent

This person needs to:

• Have strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Have experience of working in a startup is preferable
• Be eligible to work in the UK if UK is your preferred location of work (sponsorship is not available)
• Be able to travel domestically and internationally as defined by the project need
