Surface Finishing Technician- West Drayton
Operating as part of a unique team at the heart of the Company's operation the Surface Finishing Technician - Anodiser is a position of significant responsibility.
Accountable for handling customers highly valuable & complex articles and navigating them through vigorous chemical processes. The Surface Finishing Technician - Anodiser adheres to rigid time constraints whilst considering the customers special requirements throughout the process, and promptly eradicates discrepancies to achieve an optimum standard of quality finish.
With a combination of technical know-how and physical stamina this role is an integral part of the Company structure. Its importance within the operation must not be underestimated and should be valued as such.
- Liaise with the Production Manager to meet daily tasks.
- Ability to perform a brief inspection of the fixture parts to ensure that they are securely attached to aid electrical contact throughout the process and do not show any signs of damage before processing.
- Ability to confirm quantities are correct to the paperwork and route card provided.
- Ability to carry out the chemical anodise process in accordance with process specifications and customer requirements.
- Ability to visually inspect the articles after processing to ensure that the articles are of a high-quality finish, raise any concerns immediately with the Production Manager.
- All processed articles are to be moved into the Inspection section and communicate accordingly.
- Ability to assist the Production Manager with regular maintenance of chemical solutions including addition of undiluted acids/alkalis and pumping out of exhausted rinse tanks on a weekly basis.
- Ability to maintain all local equipment and ensure process bars are cleaned daily. Any equipment requiring maintenance to be communicated to the Production Manager.
- Ensure all equipment is within calibration and within there working parameters as per process specification.
- Ability to complete work in a manner that satisfies Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others around you.
- You may be required to train personnel from time to time to encourage uniformity across the Surface Finishing section.
- Ability to adhere to COSHH regulations.
- Ability to use the correct Personal Protective Equipment, Respiratory Protective Equipment when required to do so and correct handling/storage of all hazardous chemicals.
- To carry out reasonable additional duties as instructed by the Senior Management team as and when required.

- Metal Finishing and Engineering background (desirable)
- Previous experience of working in a Factory environment (desirable)
Qualifications
- First aid certificate (desirable, relevant training will be provided if necessary)
- Manual Handling (desirable, relevant training will be provided if necessary)
- COSHH training (desirable, relevant training will be provided if necessary)
- Health & Safety (desirable, relevant training will be provided if necessary)
- Technical or Engineering Qualification (desirable)
- Chemical Safety Awareness (desirable, relevant training will be provided if necessary)
This is a permanent position.
Monday to Thursday 08.00am - 17.30pm Friday 08.00am -14.00pm
