Purpose of the role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join the team based in Solihull. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be responsible for processing  and paying supplier invoices accurately and in line with Company procedures and assist with the month end accounting routine. 

 

Main Responsibilities

 

As an Accounts Payable Assistant you will be responsible for the management of the accounts payable ledger and preparing payment runs for suppliers. The role will involve ongoing reconciliation of all supplier accounts, processing invoices and performing everyday management of all payment cycle activities. Your day to day will involve keeping track of, processing and reconcile statements, in compliance with financial policies and procedures. You will ensure correct approval, sorting, coding and matching of invoices/receipts and be liaising and communicating with internal and external suppliers  whilst providing efficient client service. To c arry out other appropriate duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager. 

 

Ideal Candidate

 

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background working in the finance sector with the ideal candidate having experience within an Accounts Payable position for a minimum of 12 months. Experience of dealing with subcontractors and CIS regulations, working in Accounts Payable for a large organisation. You will have understanding of CHAPS, BACS and Faster Payments.

 

You will have good organisation skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritise, to manage multiple accounts. Having strong verbal communication skills, including active listening and telephone Interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution is essential.
