Job description
Utility Site Supervisor Location: Banbury and Aylesbury Duration: Three months rolling contract Supervisors will lead by example and set the standards for workers to follow, to raise awareness and improve the Health and Safety culture on site. Principally supervisors will: Ensure that appropriate site inductions are carried out and recordedCarry out regular site briefingsCheck compliance with the relevant Quality Plans, Method Statements, Risk assessments and Inspection and Test PlansAssist with appropriate inspection, sampling and testing to verify compliance.Carry out quality checks and witnessing, and reporting of any non-conformancesCarry out regular Safety, Health and Environmental inspections, attend Safety, Health and Environmental meetings, and report all accidents, incidents and near-missesAssist with monitoring the performance and operation of contractors. Ensure they are properly instructed in the safe execution of their work and programme requirementsPromote the introduction of innovation and capture efficiencies during constructionCollect and collate all necessary data for the measurement of the Key Performance IndicatorsLiaise with the Area Managers and Roadspace Manager regarding co-ordination and integration of WorksLiaise with Local Authorities, Statutory Authorities, Emergency Services and other third parties where necessary to ensure successful completion of the WorksAssist with the management and administration of the construction works in accordance with the ContractAssist with the production of the quality plan and adhere to the proceduresIdentify and prepare new procedures as necessaryAssist with the preparation and maintenance of Construction Phase PlansAssist with the preparation of monthly financial and progress reportsAssist with the recording and valuation of the workAssist the CTL/DM with the implementation of the duties of the Principal Contractor (Provider Works)Assist with the planning and programming of the works in close liaison with all ContractorsAssist with the implementation, development and maintenance of the Construction Environmental Management PlanAssisting with the management and control of all site operations including monitoring the progress of site operations and taking appropriate action (including identifying relevant instructions) to avoid over-runAssist with identifying changes to the works and ensure they are properly communicated including the issue of instructions to the contractor.Assist with organising regular meetings with the contractor to review progress and programmeUnderstand and have knowledge of roles and responsibilities within the site team.Ensure temporary works are installed in accordance with the approved design detailsCompile site records ensuring that all records are present, correct and completePromote a ‘right first time’ culture and the use of quality management procedures as a means of continuous improvementPromote a partnering ethos to provide a working environment of co-operation, trust, respect, open communication and honestyAssist with the production of the Health and Safety FileControl shift patterns, rotas and manage fatigueChallenge unsafe practice If you are interested in this Site supervisor position, please apply now with an updated copy of your CV.We look forward to hearing from you soon.
