Senior Finance Business Partner – Local Authority
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a Local Authority based in St Albans on a temporary contract basis for 3+ months.
Location: AL1 3JE
Start date: ASAP
Contract duration: 3+ months
Working hours: Mon – Fri, 08:30 – 17:00, 37 hours p/w
Pay rate: 52.39 p/h PAYE or 58.71 p/h Umbrella
As the Senior Finance Business Partner, your duties will include:
- Provide high level financial advice and information, contributing to overall strategic and operational developments in a range of designated services. Examples of such designated services/responsibilities include:
- Budget Planning and Monitoring in relation to revenue and capital
- Financial evaluations
- Financial research and policy development
- Business Partner/Budget Holder relationships
- To support the Assistant Director – Finance in the provision of a full range of professional support services to Councillors and senior managers, leading on key areas of activity as appropriate.
Skills and experience:
- Degree in finance or equivalent level of working experience in a financial setting.
- Experience working in a Finance Business Partner role in private or public sector (beneficial in local government setting).
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and core disciplines e.g. in budget preparation and monitoring, medium and long term planning, service costing and SeRCOP, fees, charges and variance analysis, project working, performance management and risk management.
