Job description
One of Europe’s leading nutritional health research bodies, the Rowett Institute at the University of Aberdeen, is recruiting a Communications Officer to play a key role in raising the profile of the institute at national and international level. The post will build on the Rowett’s long history of impact on government policy from helping to inform the second world war food rationing system to providing the science for the introduction of free school milk. Scientists at the Institute also work closely with governments to develop policies and strategies to improve nutrition. One of our former directors, Philip James, played a significant role in setting up the Food Standards Agency in the UK. Today the Institute works closely with the Environment, Natural Resources & Agriculture at the Scottish Government.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Communications Officer with first class digital communication skills to join a vibrant Knowledge Exchange (KE) and communications team to work on the delivery of external and internal communications and a range of KE events.
This is an excellent opportunity to disseminate the world-class research which is undertaken on behalf of the Scottish Government and other funding bodies. As well as working closely with policy, the Rowett Institute has strong links with business, industry and the third sector.
You should have significant experience communication, marketing or knowledge exchange experience.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6, £37,099 per annum, pro rata.
