WTW Insurance Consulting and Technology are embracing Continuous Delivery as part of our Software Development Life Cycle. At the heart of this, we are looking for a talented and experienced SaaS / DevOps Release Manager to join us to help expand and manage our approach, capabilities, tools, and colleagues to deliver agile release management.
This role will be responsible for and lead key aspects of release management including planning, scheduling, communications, team coordination, deployment, and feature release. You will work closely with teams and stakeholders across the business including product management, engineering, and security to lead continuous release plans and establishing continuous improvement practices.
As a SaaS / DevOps Release Manager, you will:
- Establish and manage key Release Management practices, such as quality alignment, readiness gates (automated or manual), and milestone decisions
- Contribute into the overall governance processes to ensure that we keep up high standards of delivery to our customers
- Manage, mitigate, and resolve risks and issues that could impact our release plans
- Education of colleagues and teams on release management approaches, through suitable training and validation practices
- Continually look to improve our SaaS release management approach, through innovation, and collaboration (both internal and external)
- Ensure that release management metrics are reported and become part of our real time Delivery Health dashboards
- Work with our colleagues on challenges and issues that impact our releases to customers
- Adapt our release management framework to new techniques, technologies and standards
The essential skills/experience for this position are:
- Demonstrable experience (at least 3 years) in release management for a SaaS organisation releasing new features and updates on a frequent (e.g., team sprint) basis to customers
- Great working experience of Agile, SDLC and DevOps practices to effectively fulfil the role
- Experience in Public Cloud and modern SaaS technologies. Microsoft Azure preferable
- Experience in release management tooling
- Managing multiple and varied internal stakeholders and customers and cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal skills, being able to frequently interchange between technical and business language
- Strong project management skills including dependency management, team blockage removal and risk mitigation
- Contributions into wider organisational practice improvement and evolution
- Knowledge and passion for new techniques to achieve release management goals and evidence to show continual improvement of release management approach
- Resilient work ethic and leadership skills: enthusiastic, motivational, proactive, knowledgeable, collaborative, and always looking to improve the way things are done
