Job description

The Marketing Director is a key role, devising and implementing all of The Playhouse’s Marketing and Communications activity. Working as part of our Senior Management Team the Marketing Director ensures that the organisation’s external and internal marketing, communications and messaging delivers maximum engagement across all of The Playhouse’s programmes. They will lead the marketing team as part of the Development and Marketing Team and also be responsible for supporting wider strategic issues working closely with Senior Management colleagues and the CEO.

We are looking for someone with creativity, excellent communication skills and the versatility to adapt messaging and marketing approaches to different audiences, enabling our programmes to gain as wide and deep a reach as possible. The successful candidate will have substantial experience of marketing within the arts with a track record of developing audiences, engaging people, an innovative approach to crafting communications messages and a strong understanding of digital marketing practices.

Competence and familiarity with CMS and CRM systems and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and tools is important, including the ability to use relevant editing and design software. As it is a dynamic role we are open to working with people from a range of backgrounds who have the relevant key skills as well as the ability and desire to learn the full scope of the job.
