Key Job Specification
As an Accounts Manager, you will prepare accurate and timely financial statements and documents for a varied client portfolio. You will be responsible for performing balance sheet, revenue, expense, and payroll account reconciliations, as well as checking accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
You will also be expected to provide leadership for our Trainee Accountants by teaching them how to complete complex financial operations. You are responsible in helping the organisation to meet its objectives of providing clients with the best possible service.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, leading client meetings, advising clients
- Preparation and review of quarterly, monthly and yearly Statutory accounts, Management accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT and Personal Tax
- Carry out audits
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and established clients, handling day to day enquiries and queries
- Work and liaise with other members of the team as necessary to provide high quality client support
- Train and coach Trainee Accountants, and support and review their work
The role can be tailored depending on Practice experience.
Skills and qualifications may include:
- ACCA/ ACA or equivalent professional qualification or nearly qualified
- At least 3 years’ UK experience working within practice
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge and application of current UK accounting standards, tax legislation, technical issues and related matters, and updates team on new developments and standards
- Broad range of audit experience including taking responsibility for planning, controlling and completing a diverse range of assignments
- Good working knowledge of Excel and ability to learn and use bookkeeping packages such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks etc
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues at all levels
- A proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong client relationships, demonstrating strong professionalism, credibility and confidence
- A proactive approach to problem solving and delivering client solutions
- Thrives in a small, friendly and hard-working team environment
- Native-level of English, both written and verbal, including accurate spelling and grammar
