About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

As a/an Project Engineer , you will have the following accountabilities:

• Lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice.
• Ultimately accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works.
• Define boundary of scope of works
• Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information
• Prioritisation and ownership of documentation to enable construction works as per plans.
• Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures
• Directly report to the Building Manager or nominated deputy.
• Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
• Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements
• Deliver Electrical Construction Workpacks to support the programme
• Enable the use of the Procon system to support the construction works and progress reporting of the program.
• Enable the requesting and compliance of project for the Work Authorisation and Permit systems.
• Enable the co-ordination of safe access routing to workfaces

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

• Specific degree or equivalent Electrical vocational training and experience qualifications in line with the requirements
• Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering)
• Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
• IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH
• Experience and knowledge of Electrical Safe Systems of Work
