About the role:
I am an energetic and happy young lady who likes to socialise and engaging in activities. I am non-verbal but very expressive. I have global development delay, learning disabilities, and epilepsy. I understand speech and BSL but am limited in my own communication. I like to go swimming, to the park, out for lunch and various other social activities (in the past I have done horse riding and dry slope skiing). We have a family cat and chickens.

I am looking for a Personal Assistant who can support me with all care and medical needs, keep me safe, stimulated, and happy, and provide some respite to my parents.

The right candidate will be friendly and reliable; experience in a similar could be beneficial, but this is not a necessity, the right attitude an approach is most important. Full training will be given, which will include midazolam and epilepsy, health and safety, and manual handling.

The Personal Assistant will be responsible to both parents, with mum as their employer. They will be expected to always maintain a professional approach, ensure our working relationship is confidential, and remain mindful of my right to dignity and respect.

General duties and responsibilities will include:
• All personal care
• Keeping me safe
• Assistance with medication
• Midazolam care
• Taking me out in the community
• Preparing meals and support me with eating
• Support with different activities including swimming
• Encouraging my independence

Summary terms and conditions
• The rate of pay for this position is £11.90 per hour
• There are various hours available for this position and the employer can be flexible. Please note your hours of availability on the application form.
• The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks

The post is subject to the following:
• Satisfactory DBS check and references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer
• Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months
