This is an incredible opportunity to join one of the UKs largest and most well-known medical charities and play an integral role within the communications team, responsible for the charities PR function. You’ll be able to work flexibly, with a minimum of 1 day every two weeks in their Peterborough office.
The team is dedicated to improving and saving the lives of millions through ground-breaking research, improving patient care and raising awareness. They are a dynamic and passionate team, driving change and refusing to settle for the status quo.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Executing the charities PR function to raise profile and generate external publicity.
- Make efforts to strengthen the charities’ reputation both national and regional.
- Develop stories which will engage, excite and inspire people to raise awareness and secure press coverage.
- Contribute to the overall communication strategy for the charity.
- Work with the communications manager and data insight team to develop KPI’s for your function, delivering and reporting.
- Build relationships with story-sharers journalists and editors.
- Maintain records of media coverage achieved to create reports and insights.
To be successful you will have:
- Ideally at least 2 years’ experience within a similar PR role, perhaps as a communications, press of PR officer.

Due to their office being based in Peterborough and the role offering flexible working the role is commutable from most of Cambridgeshire including, Cambridge, Huntingdon, Ely, St Neots, Cambourne, Wittering, Bourne, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Godmanchester, Swavesey, Granham., Kings Lynn.
