Job description
The AMRC are looking for a mechatronics maintenance technician to complete a Level 3mechatronics maintenance apprenticeship to join their team. The candidate will help install, maintain and support machinery required for research activities taking place across the AMRC groups.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the AMRC Central team, with project scope and specification, engineering design work, machinery installation, and continued planned, periodic maintenance of various electrical, fluid and mechanical components and machines. This will include covering multiple sites and departments with the AMRC.
Following the completion of your apprenticeship and providing the candidate has shown a positive attitude, aptitude towards their workplace and educational responsibilities. There may be the opportunity and pathway to progress towards an engineering bachelor’s degree, or equivalent Level 6 qualification

Things to consider:
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.
