This is a remote position.

Overview

We are seeking a Medical Collections Officer for Occupational Health Testing to ensure the efficient and accurate collection of medical samples from individuals undergoing occupational health testing. As a Medical Collections Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and safety of employees in various industries by ensuring that their medical samples are collected and handled correctly.

Responsibilities

• Collecting medical samples: You will be responsible for collecting urine samples from individuals undergoing occupational health testing. This will involve following strict protocols and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the samples.

• Conducting Medical Examinations and testing's such as hearing test, visual tests, alcohol testing, Colour Blind Testing, BMI and basic observations.

• Ensuring proper sample handling: You will be responsible for ensuring that all collected samples are properly labelled, stored, and transported to the appropriate laboratory for analysis. You will need to follow established guidelines and protocols to maintain the integrity of the samples throughout the collection and transportation process.

• Maintaining accurate records: You will be required to maintain detailed and accurate records of all collected samples, including information such as the date and time of collection, the individual's identification details, and any relevant medical history. This information will be crucial for tracking and tracing samples, as well as for maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of individuals' medical information.

• Adhering to regulatory requirements: You will need to stay up to date with relevant regulations and guidelines related to occupational health testing and medical sample collection. This includes understanding and following protocols for infection control, privacy and confidentiality, and ensuring compliance with any applicable laws or industry standards.

• Providing excellent customer service: As a Medical Collections Officer, you will interact with individuals undergoing testing on a regular basis. It is important to provide a professional and friendly demeanour, ensuring that individuals feel comfortable and supported throughout the collection process. You may need to answer questions, provide explanations, and address any concerns or issues that may arise.

- Manchester

- Birmingham

- South and Central Yorkshire

- Doncaster

- Newcastle

- Portsmouth

Qualifications

• Minimum of FREC 3 or FAW

• Knowledge of medical terminology: Familiarity with medical terminology and an understanding of different types of occupational health tests will be beneficial in this role.

• Attention to detail: The ability to follow strict protocols and procedures, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, is essential in ensuring the reliability and integrity of collected samples.

• Communication skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are important for effectively interacting with individuals undergoing testing, as well as for maintaining clear and accurate records.

Requirements:

- Approximately 2 days a week availability (week)

- Availability to attend online training on the week commencing on the 4th March and Physical training in Doncaster on the 11th March. (Assistance with travel expenses will be given and a training rate of 12£/hr will be paid for the time duration of the training)

• Any ID Registration cards or Work ID NHS Only Please HCPC NMC, GMC

• Any Non-Health Care your HPA Registration card or UKEREMT or work ID where appropriate.

• Enhanced DBS with online registration or certificate for non-Update system dated within the last year.

• Any Relevant Training Certificates

• Company or UTR or NI Number Proof

• Certificate of qualification
