iRecruit are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong civils background to work for a national civils company at their site based in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in such a role, preferably having worked on waterworks projects. The Role

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will manage a number of projects in partnership with some of the UK's largest construction companies with a key focus on waterworks. Dealing with the direct labour force on site, you will be responsible for managing large subcontracts awarded to the company as well as cost awareness and control. Building up relationships with clients you will look to foster strong relationships to ensure continued repeat business and will take a proactive role in ensuring this happens. You will additionally be competent with New Engineering contracts in addition to contract documentation in accordance with current regulations, legislation and contract law.

Working on a national basis, the client are a medium sized civils contractor who work on numerous projects in partnership with some of the UK's largest construction companies. Their portfolio includes works on District Heating, Waterways and various types of Civil Engineering. A family based business which has been operating for nearly 40 years, the company take pride in rewarding their employees and are looking to continue to grow, allowing much room for progression. 

Requirements 

" 3-5 year's experience as a Quantity Surveyor 
" Experience in Civils Highly preferable 
" Experience in Water preferable but not essential 
" Good negotiation skills 
" Effective communicator
