As a Barclays Application Support Amazon, you will get an exciting opportunity to perform a critical role in Application Support and Service Management for the new Amazon Co-branded Credit Card Partnership with accountability to ensure stability, continuity and availability and technical assistance of applications. This will be the ideal role for someone with previous experience working in a live application support role and/or ITIL environment and a proactive approach to both autonomous and team working abilities.

What will you be doing?
• Ensuring stability, continuity and availability of the application, in addition to providing rapid response to incidents and escalated users queries
• Leading on the prioritisation of individual Incidents and ensuring the delivery of solutions in line with the Service Level agreements to deadlines and quality standards
• Providing 24/7 support on rota & expertise and specialised system knowledge, resolving key incidents outside of business hours and Major Incident Management assistance
• Determining proactive remedial strategies to prevent future problems and to improve the quality of delivered software
• Accounting for the Change Management, ensuring smooth transition into production holding the line to ensure service and assistance readiness
• Determining and raising risks and owning and contributing to individual Service Improvement items including incident reduction and automation
• Taking accountability of the proactive and reactive monitoring and alerting and enhancements
• Delivering documentation to agreed standards, on time and error free 

What we’re looking for:
• Hands on experience with Unix/Linux commands and scripts
• Experience managing a Unix/Linux based environment and hosted Applications
• Hands on experience with SQL and/or Oracle scripting with experience of API support
• Basic knowledge of tools like Jenkins, Chef and other deployment tools and competence of automation tool and scripting languages

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Knowledge of Openshift and Scripting languages
• Familiarity with Cloud based technologies as well as aPaaS
• Competence of ELK, Kibana, AppDynamics, ESaaS
• ITIL v3 or above foundation certified

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
