To lead a health-focussed unit hosted in a Medical Royal College that aims to change the way Scotland tackles obesityprevention and healthy food policy.
To challenge the understanding of a healthy diet, obesity (and what a healthy weight looks like) and associated riskswith key groups, decision makers and individuals in public policy, media, health and beyond.
To identify and challenge the public and private sector interests that directly shape the obesogenic environment toidentify and influence action required.
To shape the political and policy agenda through direct engagement with senior decision-takers to enable the changeneeded to deliver population health measures.
To develop and inspire a successful, engaged team that can deliver agreed aspirations.
In conjunction with and as directed by the Steering Group, to lead, develop and monitor programmes of work,overseeing delivery and ensuring that programmes are evidence-based, outcome-focussed, fully aligned withstrategic priorities, seeking to promote a healthy diet and thus change the prevalence and profile of overweightand obesity in Scotland.

Terms of Employment
The post-holder will report to the Steering Group which will be made up of representatives from the Scottish Academyof Royal Medical Colleges, the NHS and other subject matter experts.
Obesity Action Scotland will be collocated at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. The postholder will be an employee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
The post-holder will report to the Obesity Action Scotland Steering Group on matters related to strategy, policy andprogrammes and will report to the CEO of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow on all othermatters. The full job description is available for download below.

*Hybrid working enables employees to work both in the College and remotely. As part of this arrangement, employeeswill be required to spend at least 50% of their working time in the College, with the days being subject to theneeds of the business.

GCA deliver services over 6 days per week and throughout Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire
Role:
The Counselling Service Manager will manage GCA’s Integrated Counselling Service. This service offers individual,free and confidential counselling for people experiencing alcohol-related difficulties and those impacted bysomeone else’s alcohol issue. The service is provided by trained staff, students and volunteers. Individualsaccess the service either directly or by being referred by another source such as a GP or ADRS Team. The serviceaddresses health and social wellbeing, while promoting and supporting the development of trauma informedpractice.
The post holder will support the Head of Client Services to manage and co-ordinate a high-quality service within GCA,whilst ensuring staff counsellors, volunteers and students receive appropriate supervision, support, andguidance. The service will be provided from North Claremont Street Office and within community settings.

As well as leading as the focal point for the allocated projects, your role will be responsible for the overallproject management through proactive engagement, communication, planning and reporting with key stakeholders andparticipating member organisations of Citizens Advice Scotland.
You will ensure the funder and participating bureaux, as well as external and internal stakeholders are communicatedwith regularly, effectively and in an engaging way, particularly on matters relating to project delivery,management of project change and risks, service design and Quality Assurance as well as contract and financialbudgetary management. You will require an ability to foster a team culture across a dispersed team and be ableto direct and support them to communicate and engage with stakeholders effectively, monitor performance andservice design as well as meet external and internal reporting requirements.
National Projects are focused on providing a comprehensive, enhanced support service which is being delivered by thebureau network. Prior knowledge and involvement in advice projects would be an advantage.

We are recruiting a Workforce Manager (Retention) to manage the development and delivery of childminder retentionpilot models in our exciting new Workforce Programme, Shaping Scotland’s Childminding Future, aimed at retainingand growing the number of childminders across Scotland.
The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and managing a retention models team as well as workingcollaboratively with the wider SCMA team to deliver our innovative work which focuses on providing Mentoring,Funded Time Off the Floor and Quality & Learning support for childminders. You will work in closepartnership with designated local authorities and wider stakeholders.
We require a skilled communicator with the ability to manage and motivate your team, demonstrating enthusiasm,self-motivation, and focus. You should have a robust understanding of childminding services, current challengesfor the childminding workforce and solution focused approaches, including the ability to test and innovate.
Excellent planning, organisational and inter-personal skills are required and working as part of a team is essential.You should have highly developed written and oral communication skills.
Initial funding is until March 2025, however this is part of a 3-year proposal with funding confirmation received onan annual basis. The post is home/office based, requiring travel and attendance at meetings across the centralbelt and occasionally wider (including regular attendance at Head Office in Stirling).
