Your new role
As the Communications and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the organisation’s communications strategy, both internally and externally. You will coordinate all communications across the organisation, ensuring consistency and quality of messages and branding. You will also develop and execute marketing plans for campaigns and events, using story-telling and creative approaches to increase engagement and action.
You will manage a team of six staff, providing support and guidance for their work on various environmental programmes. You will also manage the organisation’s relationships with external media providers and the retained communications agency. You will work closely with the Senior Management Team and other stakeholders, including central government, local councils and partners, to build the reputation and influence of the organisation across Northern Ireland. You will also support the income generation activities of the organisation, by identifying and securing opportunities and platforms for fundraising and sponsorship.

What you\'ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, experience, knowledge and personal qualities:

• A relevant degree level qualification in communications, media, digital media, marketing, public relations or journalism (desirable)
• At least one year of staff management experience, with proven ability to effectively motivate and support your team (essential)
• Demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining productive external relationships with a range of stakeholders, including government, media, partners and donors (essential)
• Project management skills, showing you can manage multiple workloads and deliver high-quality outputs within tight deadlines (essential)
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, in a variety of settings, with proven ability to produce effective and engaging content for different audiences and channels (essential)
• Demonstrable understanding of reputation and issues management, and how to handle sensitive and complex situations (essential)
• Experience of implementing a communications strategy in the NGO sector, and aligning it with the organisation\'s vision and values (essential)
• Experience of using a content management system, updating websites, and digital communications, including social media and email marketing (essential)
• Brand management experience, and ability to ensure consistency and quality of the organisation\'s branding across all platforms and materials (desirable)
• Full current driving licence or access to a suitable means of transport to deliver the role (essential)

What you\'ll get in return

• Salary offered between £32,000 - £35,000
• Hybrid working - 2 days office, 2 days home working
• 4-day week with no loss of pay
• 12 month fixed term contract
