We are looking for a Maintenance Technician Electrical/Mechanical to join our team at the BAE Systems Washington operational contract location. This role is integral to ensuring the safe operation, testing, and maintenance of all plant and equipment, providing expertise in electrical and mechanical systems. What you’ll do:
- Conduct hands-on maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment, ensuring optimal operation and reliability.
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance activities, including electrical fault identification, heating systems controls, water hygiene, fire alarm systems testing, and air conditioning maintenance.
- Provide technical supervision and instruction to site staff, enhancing team capabilities and ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
- Manage stocks of critical spares and ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, client-specific policies, and Sodexo procedures.
- Utilize IT systems for data monitoring within Quality Assurance and management reporting systems, maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all tasks.
- Liaise with specialist subcontractors and maintain effective communication with all parties related to service activities.
What you bring:
- A recognised apprenticeship and qualifications (C&G, ONC, OND, NVQ) in a trade-specific discipline, with a particular focus on electrical/mechanical systems.
- 18th edition electrical safety certification, BS 2391 inspection and testing.
- Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills, with a strong understanding of Health & Safety Legislation and COSHH.
- A proactive, flexible approach with the motivation to continually develop skills and embrace new technologies.
- The ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating excellent relationship management and resilience.
