Pay – £38 per hour or £35 per hour plus £150 per week expenses
Working Arrangements – Mix of both office and home BUT at least 2 days in the office
Job Description:
In this exciting opportunity, your role will include promoting knowledge of your specialism and representing social work to other disciplines /agencies. You will also assist in fulfilling established quality assurance standards, targets and working together with managers to promote improvements in practice standards. You will be expected to provide an accountable statutory social work service to those people who access or need the service to include assessment, planning and review Your responsibility will also include partnership working, day to day assessment of new referrals, caseload management, work with families and carers, working with clients in crisis whilst managing risk, adult safeguarding and working within the SDS framework; whilst promoting knowledge of their specialism and representing social work to other disciplines /agencies. You will also assist in fulfilling established quality assurance standards, targets and working together with managers to promote improvements in practice standards. You will remain up-to-date and compliant with all relevant legislation and adhere to organisational procedures, policies and codes of conduct as well as Social Work England professional standards in order to uphold a high-quality, seamless service. You will be expected to work within organisational, policy and legislative requirements. To be qualified for this role, you will demonstrate relevant theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of social work, and have a good, up-to-date working knowledge of legislation relevant to the specialist area of the post e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act. You will have a good understanding of the necessity of working with partnership agencies including health, housing, learning, statutory, voluntary and independent sector. You will also understand the therapeutic interventions that can be used e.g. solution focused, systemic and evidence-based programmes and an excellent understanding of partner agencies. You will undertake continued professional development and maintain records of your training in line with Social Work England requirements. You will be required to travel throughout the County, including to locations that are not always easily accessible by public transport. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.
Qualifications:

Qualifications and/or experience:
⦁ A recognised Social Work qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent as recognised by the relevant professional body.
⦁ Registration with the relevant professional registration body and responsibility for maintaining registration with that body.
⦁ Approved Mental Health Professional (it is a requirement to have AMHP qualification or to be working towards the qualification to be complete within 2 years of appointment and to maintain level of knowledge).
⦁ Experience of working in partnership with those who access or need the service and maintaining a focus on the needs of the individual whilst handling conflict and disagreement.
⦁ Experience of forming effective working relationships within a multi-agency/ multidisciplinary setting.
⦁ Evidence of good assessment skills, including the ability to ensure regular reviews and risk management with a variety of individuals, carers or families.
⦁ Evidence of effectively prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
⦁ Experience of managing levels of risk within a caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Act as a professional representative for the service by working with a focus on delivering services to those people who access or need the service, acting with integrity, professionalism and respect on behalf of the organisation, ensuring at all times that the needs of individuals are paramount.
⦁ Deliver a service and operate in accordance with the appropriate National Occupational Standards for Social Work and the Health and Social Work England professional standards. Responsible for maintaining appropriate registration
⦁ Prepare for, and work with, individuals, families, carers, groups and communities to assess their needs and circumstances, implement care packages and evaluate and monitor progress considering best value care package options.
⦁ Participate in a help desk/duty system and manage a caseload under regular supervision. Assess needs, risks and options taking into account legal and other requirements. Work effectively in partnership with other staff and voluntary agencies and gain a good understanding of all the relevant health, voluntary and private services in the area.
⦁ Report any allegation or suspicions of abuse or potential abuse of a vulnerable person to an immediate manager or supervisor. Contribute to Safeguarding Investigations and child/adult protection planning where appropriate.
⦁ Use professional knowledge to negotiate with and on behalf of those people who access or need the service and with a wide range of providers and other professionals.
