Job Title: Management Accountant - Pensions (6-month Contract)
Location: Bedfordshire, UK
Salary: £500 per day
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Management Accountant specialising in pensions to support in various financial activities for the Pension Fund, including investment accounting, pension fund accounts and annual reports, external audit, capital calls/distributions, ONS returns, and FOIs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform investment accounting tasks, including quarterly postings from the newly appointed custodian.
- Prepare Pension Fund Accounts and Annual Reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate external audit processes and liaise with auditors as necessary.
- Manage capital calls/distributions efficiently.
- Prepare and submit ONS returns accurately and timely.
- Handle Freedom of Information (FOI) requests related to pension fund finances.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant or equivalent with relevant experience in Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) administration.
- Proficient in investment accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective liaison with various stakeholders including custodians, external auditors, investment managers, and Border to Coast.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
