Specialty Doctor in Integrated Sexual & Reproductive Health (10 PAs contract)
1x Permanent post (internal applicants only)
1x 12 months Fixed-Term post (external applicants)

Applications are invited for posts in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare at Mattock Lane, Ealing, part of the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the most ethnically diverse areas of the UK with a team renowned for innovation in health care.

The successful candidates will be expected to support the medical team in the delivery of the highest standards of patient care and service developments for 10 PAs during the week.

Requirements for the Post :
• 3 years full time post registration training (or its equivalent on a part time or flexible basis)
• Previous experience of GUM is essential

The Trust provides Integrated Sexual Health Services and HIV care across Brent, Ealing, Harrow and Hillingdon from hospital and community clinic sites using a hybrid model of face to face and distance consultations.

The Specialty Doctor will be expected to work with department members to help provide a clinical Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health service for the Ealing (Mattock Lane Clinic)Service.

Also he/she will need to:
• Share in the administration of the IRSH Departments
• Help to facilitate the Trust IRSH research and audit programme.
• Contribute to the teaching of medical students and other professionals
• Contribute to the implementation of the IRSH Department’s development plans.

We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public.

Clinics are open mornings, afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings forming a network of provision which includes Primary Care and Pharmacies with Young People’s work and HIV prevention provided by Brook, THT and Spectra.

The Services provide training for DFSRH and STIF qualifications for GPs, Nurses and GP trainees through innovative training posts.

HIV clinics run in each borough with in-patients being looked after by the Infectious Diseases team, with whom there is close working.

The appointees will be expected to work with department members to help provide an integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health service in Mattock Lane Clinic, Ealing

Also, he/she will need to:
• Provide safe and effective care in line with departmental and national guidelines
• Help to facilitate the departmental audit programme.
• Teach GP trainees, undergraduate medical students and nurses in clinic

Clinical duties will include:
• Provision of 8-9 clinics per week
• Work towards providing a fully integrated sexual health service with an emphasis on STI management and HIV prevention.
