Job description

We are looking for a new Treasurer. The role is to oversee the financial affairs of the charity and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.

What will you be doing?

• Approve volunteer expenses and staff salary payments via online banking.
• Ensure effective financial control procedures are in place.
• Lead on appointing and liaising with auditors/an independent examiner.
• Monitor the financial health and ensure the financial viability of the charity.
• Oversee the production of an annual budget and propose its adoption each financial year.
• Oversee the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts, and audits.
• Report the financial position of the charity at Board Meeting (held every two-three month).

What are we looking for?

Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy

Experience with Microsoft Excel

Good level of literacy and numeracy skills

Proficient in using Microsoft Office

Ability to organise and adjust your workload

Ability to work on your own without direct supervision

Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management

Good financial analysis skills

Professional manner and attitude
