Operation Manager - Aylesbury - Logistics/Distribution

Pertemps Aylesbury is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join a leading distributor based in Aylesbury.

Hours: 8am-5pm

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse team including assembly and dispatch of customer orders and receipt of deliveries from suppliers.
  • Managing and lead Goods inwards and transport team.
  • Maintaining high standards of Health and Safety compliance.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and place orders as needed for PPE and Packaging.
  • Collaborating with other managers to develop and implement strategies for improving operations and customer satisfaction.
  • KPI setting, setting daily targets, and managing performance through Management Performance process for all colleagues.
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to in line with company settings, with colleague engagement, ensuring compliance to SOP's and procedures to develop best practice, whilst driving efficiency, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Planning and adjusting colleague resource levels to meet daily/weekly operational needs.
  • Leading team of Managers, to coach and develop to next Managers of the future, setting PDP and Appraisals, with ongoing 1-1's
  • Managing all Disciplinary, HR, Health and Safety, Grievance in line with all Company policies.
  • Constant review of all Operational activities, to improve both cost and customer service to continue success for the organisation.
  • Managing Transport workload, from drivers to cross dock/trunking, planning routes and efficient cost control.
Qualifications / Experience:
  • Previous experience in a leadership role in a warehouse setting.
  • Strong knowledge of MHE.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPC Qualified (desirable).
  • Management experience: 5 years (required).
  • A proven track record of leading warehouse and distribution operations to offer excellent service with best-in-class efficiency.
  • An ability to manage a substantial change process such as a site move.
  • Manage budget cost control against business plan, to maximise efficient cost usage.
  • Engage team with continuous improvement, H & S culture, and company culture, through colleague engagement.
  • Liaise with customers, branches, and head office to ensure continued efficiency and customer focus.
