Job description

The English College, Dubai, seeks a positive, hard working and inspiring Sports Coach to work in the PE Faculty for August 2024. The successful candidate for this position will embody a growth mindset and maintain high expectations for both themselves and their students. They will demonstrate openness and eagerness to learn, understanding that continuous improvement is essential in the field of sports coaching. Engaging in professional development opportunities will be an integral part of this role, as we believe in the philosophy that everyone, including our coaches, can always enhance their skills.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, highly qualified and committed, with an excellent track record of sporting success coaching teams. We are seeking a candidate with a genuine passion for developing sports within an educational environment, dedicated to fostering a culture of athleticism, teamwork and sporting excellence while maintaining the EC core values. The successful candidate will bring a creative approach to sports coaching, inspiring and motivating students with a diverse range of talents and abilities. With a commitment to excellence, they will set high expectations for all, utilising data to tailor coaching strategies to meet the individual needs of every athlete, providing both challenge and support as necessary. In addition to coaching responsibilities, candidates must have a desire and willingness to contribute to our extra curricular activities programme, both before and after school, and to DASSA, BSME and BSAK competitions. The ability to coach in more than one sport will be advantageous.

You should also illustrate a capacity to help students achieve their absolute best as part of a team, a proactive commitment to the pastoral care and wellbeing of our learners, and a willingness to contribute to the thriving extracurricular life of our school. The successful candidate will need to play a significant role in the safeguarding of our students.  

The English College is an established, independent, and co-educational British curriculum all-through school (EYFS through to Year 13). We are well resourced with great facilities - we opened a new Secondary Building in August 2020 with 2 drama studios, a fitness suite, sports hall, specialised art and music rooms and science labs.
