Job Title: Support Worker
Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum & Dad)
Hours: 16 hours per month (average 4 hours per week)
Hourly Rate of Pay: £11.50
Based at: Ipswich, Suffolk.
Closing date 13.03.24
Job Purpose
The purpose of this Job is to support a teenage boy (15 year old) with autism. The child lives at home with his Mum and Dad. The purpose is to build a professional relationship with the child, support him to become more independent and to support his daily needs. The teenage boy loves buses and trains and loves being outdoors. He enjoys going to the park, cinema and trampoline parks.
To support with:
Engaging with the teenage and taking part in activities he enjoys e.g. going to watch trains / buses, going to the play park, cinema, trampoline park, etc
Constant supervision is required at all times.
Support with all safety aspects.
To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys.
Personal care may be required e.g. supervising him when he goes to the toilet – he is scared of hand driers to support with be require to comfort him
To support him with independence
To be supportive, encouraging and engaging.
To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
Personal Specification
Be patient and supportive.
Have an understanding of the child and their needs.
Preferrable to have a driving license.
Have a bubbly and outgoing personality.
Flexible with the hours you can work.
To be able to work on your own initiative and be aware of risks
