We are pleased to advertise a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker vacancy to work on the Surgical Enhanced Care Unit at Salford Royal Hospital.
Surgical Enhanced Care unit comprises of 10 Enhanced Care Surgical Beds.
The role involves supporting the nursing staff in delivering high quality care and ensuring that the nurses have the equipment they require at the patients bedside and helping to maintain the clinical equipment to ensure that the environment is as clean as possible. You will also assist the qualified nurses to provide nursing care.
The shift pattern is days and nights, 7 days a week.

• Establish and maintain communication with patients, relatives and carers, working in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care.
• Contribute to own personal development.
• Assist in maintaining own and others’ health, safety and security.
• Contribute ideas for service improvement.
• Ensure own actions help to maintain quality and patient safety.
• Undertake routine assessment tasks related to individuals’ health and well-being, making modifications within prescribed parameters and reporting back to Senior Staff on patients’ progress.
• Assist in delivering programmes of care to meet individuals’ health and well-being needs, promoting patient independence as appropriate, in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work flexibly and unsociable hours to meet the demands of the service
• Assisting the Nurses with patient care.
• Ensuring the unit is well stocked and clean and tidy.
• Assisting patients with activities of daily living.
• Supporting patients with reduced capacity.
