Job description
Group Accountant
£42,000 - £45,000 +
County Armagh
CPL are currently working closely with family run business in the County Armagh area as they seek to recruit a group accountant to oversee the company finances for the various divisions across the group.
Roles & Responsibilities;
· Production of monthly management accounts within specified deadlines, incorporating variance analysis.
· Support year-end audit and facilitate a seamless year-end close process.
· Oversee credit control, purchase ledger, sales ledger, subcontractors, and wages ledger.
· Generate and process general ledger journals for various divisions.
· Complete VAT/PAYE/RCT returns for the UK and ROI.
· Perform internal audits and supervise internal controls.
· Maintain an organised documentation system for the accounting system.
· Assist finance colleagues with subcontractors, sales, contract sales, payroll, stock management, purchase ledgers, and payroll as required to meet deadlines.
· Manage the HMRC Construction Industry Scheme with monthly subcontractors, reconciling returns generated by Sage.
· Evaluate and enhance Finance processes, contributing to the development of profitability reporting with improvement suggestions.
What we are looking for;
· A minimum of 1+ years experience within a similar Group Accountant, Company Accountant, Finance Manager or Management Accountant role
· Previous experience within the construction industry would be highly desirable
· Highly commercial with accuracy and strong attention to detail
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Ability to manage time/workload effectively
· Driven and self-motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
