Group Financial Controller

Group Financial Controller Prism is a fast-paced, high growth, P/E-owned Group in the Healthcare sector. Recent growth and ambitions for this to continue have combined with the evolution of the structure of the finance team to create this new Group Financial Controller role.
This new role will report into the Group Finance Director and will take responsibility for the management of consolidated financial reporting, production of MI/KPI analysis across the Group, Working Capital and improvement initiative reporting, central treasury, corporate inventory reporting and management of the audit, financial statements process and tax computation preparation.
The role is suited to someone with excellent technical skills, most likely gained either within a practice background before moving into industry or working in industry with experience to technical accounting, including IFRS reporting, Group consolidations and acquisition accounting.
Responsibilities of this Group Financial Controller position :
- Management of the monthly reporting cycle – ensuring a smooth and efficient reporting process for individual business areas and also for the Group’s consolidated results.
- Review and oversight of submissions from divisional reporting entities across the Group along with specific responsibility and ownership of the Group consolidation model including acquisition accounting.
- Financial analysis of the Group’s performance against budget and rolling forecasts.
- Delivering enhanced KPI reporting across the Group.
- Management of the accounting process for several central Group companies (mainly central cost and holding companies).
- Manage the audit process in conjunction with the divisional finance teams to ensure the Group and other entity statutory accounts are completed on time to a high standard.
- Act as an in-house accounting technical support contact for the divisional finance teams.
- Day to day operations of Group financing arrangements and banking.
- Management and coordination of the Group’s cash & liquidity, including ownership of the Group’s cash forecast.
- Supporting divisional projects on an ad hoc basis.
- VAT reporting for part of the UK Group.
Qualifications and Experience: Essential
- A qualified accountant with consolidation experience
- Strong technical accounting skills
- ACA, (preferred) ACCA or CIMA qualified
- An ambitious team player with a great work ethic
- Excellent communication skills
- A proven leader and influencer. Although at this stage, there is no direct people management, working with a number of senior finance leaders across the Group requires the ability to develop strong working relationships
