A lovely primary school in Greenwich are looking for a qualified SENCO to join their staff in January 2024 on a part-time basis (3 days a week) for the rest of the academic year.

The role

This will be a key role in the development of inclusion for Mulgrave Primary School in the relentless pursuit of our ambition to improve outcomes for all pupils.
Under the direction of the Headteacher, Deputy Head/Inclusion Lead and School Governors you will play a lead role driving the aims and objectives of the school, pro-actively

As the SENCO you will play a key role in the development of inclusion and pupil outcomes. You will work under the direction of the Head Teacher and Deputy Head/Inclusion Lead and will pro-actively lead and manage staff, lead the SENCO provision and promote the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils. You will take responsibility for coordinating all the support for children with Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities (SEND) and developing the school’s SEND Policy to make sure all children get a consistent, high-quality response to meeting their needs in school. As a lead professional you will contribute to, alongside the SLT, monitoring and evaluating the performance of all support staff and support the delivery of improvement strategies for SEND

Your role will include:
• Preparing Education, Health and Care Plans and making applications
• Making sure that parents are involved in supporting their child’s learning including planning, regular information updates and annual reviews
• Liaising with outside agencies and support e.g., Speech and Language Therapy, Educational Psychologist, therapists etc.
• Updating the school’s SEND record of need and making sure that there are excellent records all pupil's progress and needs.
• Providing specialist support for teachers and support staff in the school
• Work alongside class teachers to write Personal Learning Plans (PLP) that specify the targets for individual pupils.
• Organising training for staff so they are aware and confident about how to meet the needs of pupils within the school.

This SENCO role is offered on a permanent contract starting in January 2024. The contract is offered 3 days a week and there is flexibility on the working days.

The school is easily accessible by public transport and has parking available on site.
