Service Manager

Seeking an experienced Service Manager to join a growing industrial machinery manufacturer.

Salary £45,000 to £50,000 per annum as a guide + Company Car Allowance.

Days based opportunity with a low amount of local travel (one to two days a week).

We are seeking a Service Manager, with both mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge, to join a growing SME with a strong reputation within their market. As Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small team of Service Engineers and ensuring the service order book is to a profitable schedule. Proven man management experience within a Service environment is essential for this position. PLC and Pneumatics knowledge would be an advantage for this position. We need a well-rounded Engineer who is keen to take ownership of the department and help the business grow.

Salary:  c£45,000 to £50,000 per annum as a guide + Company car allowance.

This Service Manager job will suit:

Electrical / Mechanical qualifications and previous service team management experience in an engineering / capital equipment environment.

A good man manager and have an a commercial mindset. Someone who can appreciate the engineering needs whilst thinking about costs associated.

Preferable have knowledge of PLCs and Pneumatics given the nature of the equipment. We can be fairly broad on background, whether it be machine tools, industrial equipment, electromechanical machinery etc.

The Service Manager job will involve:

Frequently liaising with past and present customers with regards to requirements. Preparing quotations for required work, parts etc. and identifying opportunities to develop service business.

Maintaining the service engineer work schedule / diary to ensure full and efficient use of staff

Manage machine delivery from dispatch through to post commission sign off.

Arranging service visits (whether breakdown, service or warranty) to customers.

Work closely with both internal departments to assess requirements that may impact the Service team.

Managing overseas service schedules working alongside distributors within the designated areas.

This job is commutable from Tewkesbury, Worcester, Gloucester, Cheltenham.
