At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.

We are professionals with purpose, beating cancer every day. But we need to go much further and much faster. That's why we're looking for someone talented, someone who shares our vision, someone like you.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Campaigns Officer. We need you to use your communications skills and mobilise our supporters and the wider public to influence politicians and policymakers across the UK.

Working with the Campaigns Manager and other Officers, you'll develop and deliver our campaign activity through campaign planning and strategy, creative development, digital communications and events.

Our policy department at Cancer Research UK develops evidence-based policy to inform Government decisions related to cancer and research and communicates our views to key decision makers. We are the largest charitable funder of cancer research in the world, and one of the most trusted charities in the UK.

We are uniquely placed to inform political debate. We work with Parliamentarians across all four seats of government in the UK - Westminster, Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Government and the Northern Ireland Assembly and Executive. By doing so, we ensure that their policies tackle the major risk factors for cancer including tobacco, obesity, and alcohol.

Further to this, we focus on a number of other areas of policy including supporting science, access to treatment, early diagnosis and cancer services. We advocate to ensure that the UK can produce world class research, that people with cancer can access the best available treatments and care and that diagnosing cancer early remains a priority in our health service. Through our global policy programme, we work with partners around the world to improve global tobacco control and HPV vaccination.

This role will be key to supporting and driving our flag ship 'Smokefree UK' campaign, which sets to tackle the number one cause of cause - tobacco. You will also be supporting our annual lobby day event in June, and working towards an anticipated General Election later this year to keep cancer as a top priority for any new UK Government.

What will I be doing?

What skills are you looking for?

What will I gain?

Each and every one of our employees contributes to our progress and is supporting our work to beat cancer. We think that's impressive.

In return, we make sure you are supported by a generous benefits package, a wide range of career and personal development opportunities and high-quality tools, policies and processes to enable you to do your job well.

Our benefits package includes a substantial retirement plan, a generous and flexible leave allowance, discounts on anything from travel to technology, gym membership, and much more.

We don't forget people have lives outside of work too and so we actively encourage a flexible working culture.

Our work - from funding cutting-edge research to developing public policy - will change the world. It's exciting to be part of our team.

How do I apply?

We operate an anonymised shortlisting process in our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. CVs are required for all applications; but we won't be able to view them until we invite you for an interview. Instead, we ask you to complete the work history section of the online application form for us to be able to assess you quickly, fairly and objectively.
