Job description

Our client a specialist freight provider based in Basildon has an exciting opportunity for an Export Operator to join their team due to recent development and growth of business over the past few months.

Ideally our client would prefer someone with previous experience who is enthusiastic, adaptable and willing to become involved in their focused operation.

There will be ample opportunities for progression for the right candidate who has a good attitude and committed to developing their role within the business.

Duties involved for the Export Operator role:

* Undertake all aspects of administration in relation to the booking and monitoring of transport.
* Communicating with hauliers to obtain ETA's or prices.
* Updating internal operating systems with all milestones, File closing cost/sales invoices to be generated within same week of delivery.
* Liaising with shipping lines to resolve issues and gather information if needed.
* Prepare pending files and monitor until the point of booking in.

Key role attributes required would be:

* Prior experience with shipping operations and documentation.
* Enthusiastic and engaging personality
* Support existing export service team.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Customer friendly approach

Ideally candidate will have:

* Good level of computer literacy
* Good understanding of excel would be an advantage
* Familiar with Microsoft Teams
* Experience in container loading / planning would be a benefit
* Self-motivated with willingness to take responsibility & organisational skills
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Salary for this position is up to £26,000 per annum DOE but there is flexibility to increase the salary for the right person if they have more experience.

This is an office-based role in Basildon, working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

The company also offer free onsite parking.
