Full Time- 37 hours per week
Salary: £29,262 per annum
We are currently looking for a Team Leader to work from our Accrington office which provides support to adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs with complex histories across East Lancashire. You’ll team lead the service of around 5 People we Support (PwS) and will be supported by 2 Senior Project Workers (SPW) and a team of dedicated support workers and administrative support.
Over the last 25 years our specialist department has seen a considerable period of growth, branching out into new localities and helping more adults with additional needs integrate into the community.
If you are someone who is driven, really committed to supporting people with a learning disability, have a social care background, experience of managing staff/services and hold a NVQ/QCF L3 and above we would love to hear from you!
- Be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of your service area, ensuring that planned work is undertaken and that there is adequate support to the different areas of the project.
- Establish the priorities of the day and provide senior support and consultation and to lead team meetings.
- Build links between different parts of the project, helping to foster a mutually supportive team.
- Support the service manager in relation to the project area, and to deputise in their absence.
- Undertake direct work with the PwS where necessary, and to supervise individual staff, ensuring regular reviews of practice.
- Managing finances, risk assessments, care plans and other documents relevant to the PwS.
- Maintain and enhance understanding of the key agendas in Health and Social Care, CQC and other relevant topics.
- Liaise with the other team leaders to ensure the overall co-ordination of the day-to-day running of the various projects and to keep informed of the strengths and needs of staff working across the project.
- Strong management experience with a NVQ/QCF L3 in Social Care or equivalent or a relevant professional qualification.
- Extensive experience in care-related work ideally within the field of learning disability.
- Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and your manager to ensure the effective and smooth running of the service and a drive to undertake work that is required to develop any new services.
