Role/Department:
The Team Lead has day-to-day frontline supervisory responsibilities for an Investment Operations team providing services to internal and/or external clients. Organises the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work. Possesses the management and organizational skills required to prioritise assignments and provide feedback to staff.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop employees.
- Assist in defining performance standards, conduct performance reviews, and handle salary administration.
- Provide management, leadership, and guidance to staff, creates an environment that encourages employee engagement, teamwork, and communication.
- Participate in the development of staffing and succession plans.
- Proactively prepares to ensure an effective onboarding experience for new Partners.
- Oversee the delivery of daily functions and tasks in order to meet client Service Level Agreements.
- Engage in the generation, interpretation, and actioning of Management Information Statistics (MIS) metrics.
- Able to identify opportunities for improvement within existing technology applications while acting as a liaison with Partner areas to drive resolution.
- Ensure appropriate operational controls in order to manage and mitigate risk to Northern Trust.
- Responsible for increasing knowledge of the IOO product & service delivery model.
- Research, analyze, and resolve complex client inquiries.
- Assist in performing cost-benefit and impact analysis related to the request for new client services.
- Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact; delivers a work product that requires little revision.
- Build working relationships with clients; be an advocate for the client.
- Responsible for the delivery and continuous enhancement of IOO middle office operations and client services.
- Serve as a point of escalation, maintain and monitor issues log, and work to resolve client servicing issues in a timely manner.
- Schedule and conduct Quarterly Service Reviews, Due Diligence meetings, and other Client meetings as required.
- Responsible for understanding the client’s business and needs/deliverables
- Responsible for obtaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of IOO products and services and how they are manufactured and delivered.
- Ensures internal and Client issues are communicated and escalated in a timely manner.
- Facilitate the Shared Services Engagement model, responsible for coordinating shared service delivery across NT servicing teams.
Skills/ Qualifications:
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Previous Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management, and/or Investment Operations experience a plus
- Previous client management and client service experience in a service-oriented environment
- Knowledge of financial services, asset management, and/or investment operations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change
- Attention to detail
- Works with a sense of urgency
