Job Title: Family Liaison Worker
Salary: £25,350 per annum full time equivalent £18,657 per annum pro-rata
Base: Redruth/Illogan
Main Purpose of Job:
To actively promote liaison between parents, school staff and other agencies, providing advice and support to develop the parent/school partnership and welfare of pupils
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To advise on practical childcare and parenting skills, including how to meet the emotional needs of children.
- To support the planning and administration, including evaluation, of parental events, e.g. coffee mornings, training sessions and transition visits which increase parental engagement.
- To work with outside providers to support outcomes for learners leaving school.
- To take appropriate action and work with staff to support and promote good working relationships and to help address any issues that may arise.
- To support attendance at school by providing advice and information to parents, pupils or teachers.
- To provide support in coordinating, monitoring and evaluating relevant projects set up to support the pastoral needs of pupils.
- To liaise with school staff to ensure the school website provides current and relevant contact information for families at all times.
- To co-ordinate information and promotional forums such as Facebook and school newsletter.
- To liaise with parents/carers, outside agencies and school staff at admission and key transition points, including home visits, representation at multi agency meetings and initial visits to the school.
- To support/signpost families to relevant agencies and organisations, particularly around transitions and support in the community.
- To represent the school at multi-agency meetings, e.g. Early Support/Child in Need meetings, and to co-ordinate paperwork for LAC/PeP meetings.
- To engage with parents regarding pupil attendance with aim to achieve improvement where needed.
- To support the school's Post 16 provision in connection with community links and transition to next setting.
- To complete and review all transport requests.
- To provide general admin support for the school as required.
General - applicable to all Trust roles
- To ensure that pupils needs are prioritised and to have a clear sight of how this role impacts on the academy's and the Trust's pupils at all times.
- To act as a Trust team member and provide support and cover for other staff where needs arise inclusive of occasional work at other sites within a reasonable travel distance.
- To adhere to Trust values and behaviours.
- To be aware of and adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.
- To be responsible for your own continuing self-development and attend meetings as appropriate.
- To undertake other duties appropriate to the post as required.
Special Conditions related to the post:
This position is under a temp-to-perm, where you will work 15 working weeks through us, before going onto a permanent contract with the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
