Job description
TaxAssist is the largest network of accountants in the UK. They currently have over 400 locations and focus on small businesses and individual taxpayers, providing them with a proactive and personalised service.
This is a great chance to be part of a successful, award-winning practice. This specific office, based in Kingswood Bristol, is an established and continually expanding practice with a focus on providing clients with a personalised service to help them achieve their goals.
They are now looking for a full time, or part-time office-based Accountant to provide support to their practice in Kingswood Bristol.
Delivering a personal service is key and you will have daily contact with clients, which will be supported by your team. You will also have opportunities to develop your skills further with continual training and guidance as the practice grows.
You should be able to work flexibly, in a fast-paced office environment. It may also be necessary to assist other staff from time to time.
The key duties and responsibilities are:
• Liaising with clients face to face, via phone and email
• Preparation of sole trade, Partnership and Rental accounts
• Preparation of LTD Company accounts and corporation tax returns
• Preparation and submission of personal tax computations and returns
• Completing relevant registrations with HMRC
• Client meetings to review tax savings
• Initial client meetings with prospective clients
• Support & train junior staff as necessary
• Ad hoc work as required to facilitate operations when required
Due to the continuing expansion and changing nature of this business, your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
Accountant - What we need from you:
• Minimum three years of experience within an accountancy practice
• Able to produce sole trader & Ltd Company accounts competently
• Experience with DEXT, QuickBooks and TaxCalc is preferential but not essential
• Experience with Microsoft outlook & Excel
• Experience dealing with HMRC
• Self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines.
• You must have a "can do" attitude and be able to work independently with appropriate support.
• You should be proactive, motivated and willing to learn, with a problem-solving attitude.
• You will be confident in engaging with clients to build a rapport and offer them solutions and direction.
• You should have the ability to multi-task, stay organised and manage your workload.
• You should have good attention to detail.
• Most importantly you should be a team player.
Salary and Benefits:

• Salary dependant on experience (pro-rated for part-time)
• Full time Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm or 3 days a week (part-time) 9am - 5pm
• Holiday 25 days plus Bank Holidays (pro-rated for part-time)
