Currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Support Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen.
The contract is currently due to run until the end of February 2025 and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. Hybrid working opportunities will be available and offshore visits may be required, therefore, applicants must be prepared to travel offshore.
The post holder will provide technical electrical support for daily operations and expertise for the platform maintenance crew.
Reporting to the Asset Collaboration Room Team Lead, the Electrical Support Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Providing electrical support to operations daily to maintain high production and water injection efficiency.
- Accountable for reviewing maintenance plans to ensure plan attainment can be met.
- Responsible for frontline support for electrical field equipment including, but not limited to, motors, switchgear, UPS and power management systems.
- Liaising with technical and HSE support functions across the business.
- Working closely with Supply Chain to ensure optimisation of onshore repairs and support with identification of suitable replacement components where obsolescence is an issue.
- Raising engineering changes and liaising with the Facilities Engineering function.
- Applying professional knowledge to problems and providing guidance to offshore operations.
- Consistently applying sound engineering principles and perform work in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Taking course of action necessary to expedite the successful accomplishment of assigned work scopes.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A relevant engineering degree qualification would be preferred.
- Current/valid offshore certification would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Electrical Support/Maintenance Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an E&P company/operator, would be preferred.
- Applicants should be proficient with CMMS (preferably SAP) for managing work and reviewing maintenance plans.
