Strong group are working with a long-established modern, progressive company, providing a professional and efficient Air Conditioning and Ventilation service to their large client base throughout the UK & Ireland.

Due to continued success and growth, we have the exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join the team in the Liverpool/Manchester area.

Mechanical Project Manager role

Your role will cover all aspects of operational delivery and financial responsibility of projects from initial handover from sales to completion of O&M manuals and handover to After Sales Service team.

You will be responsible for efficient and timely planning and execution of all stages of project delivery. The primary objective will always be to deliver to the brief agreed with the client, on time and within budget; including consistently reliable client liaison, programming and managing of all labour, equipment and materials. Periodic on-site quality of work overview and management of all health & safety consideration and timely, accurate weekly management reporting of all projects are also key.

You'll be working within a fast-paced team and will be handling multiple projects at one time, with a value of up to £2M, so effective prioritisation & communication skills are key. There is also administrative support within the team to provide you with support and a site manager to assist with day to day activities on site i.e. Deliveries, stock management & setting out of works. You must be highly motivated, with a record of accomplishment on various HVAC projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring work quality is of the highest standard and quality check sheets are completed and issued to client
• Buying & ordering project equipment & materials
• Resourcing, monitoring, inducting and control of project subcontractors - ensuring they are on our approved system before works commence
• Managing the project & co-ordinating with the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget
• Ensure robust communication plans are in place for both the client and internally to ensure relevant persons are kept informed
• Ensure O&M's are assembled at end of every job
• Attend all site and office projects meeting and report back on the status of projects
• Drive Health & Safety practices on site, leading by good example and ensuring all paperwork is completed
• Assist HSQE department by providing site specific information for creation of RAMS
• Carry out surveying, monitoring and control activities in order to track the progress of the project
• Identifying & resolving site clashes or procurement issues, ensure project continuity of work for subcontractors, attend site meetings, communicate project problems or issues back to your Lead Project Manager

Qualifications

• Project Management related qualifications
• H&S training such as SMSTS
• Full, Clean UK driving license
• HVAC / Building Services technical ONC or HNC would be beneficial

Experience

• Successful proven experience within a similar role, managing for projects worth up to £2m+
• The proven ability to practically understand HVAC design fundamentals
• Evidence of working on several projects simultaneously in and delivering them all on time and to the expected standard
• Evidence of proficiency in Building services drawings
• Experience working in a construction environment as a minimum, with a CSCS or SKILLcard ideal but not essential
• Evidence of knowledge in either Engineering, Mechanical or Controls
