Ron Dearing University Technical College (RDUTC) seeks an inspirational and skilled Deputy Head of Creative to work with our Director of Creativity to lead our outstanding Creative department. Our Creative curriculum includes GCSEs, A Levels and Technical qualifications in Graphic Communications, Fine Art, 3D, Photography and iMedia.
Overall purpose of the post:
- Lead the development and implementation of one of the Creative KS4 and post 16 curriculum pathways: Graphic Communication; Fine Art; 3D Design
- Lead the development of enrichment activities to enhance the Creative curriculum
- Teach the Adobe Suite including: Photoshop and Illustrator and, ideally, Animate Premier Pro and Autodesk
- Lead staff CPD to upskill colleagues to use and teach the Adobe Suite
- Teach GCSE and A Level Graphic Communication and/or Fine Art and/or 3D Design
- Promote and model inspirational teaching and learning within your own teaching
Support the Director of Creativity and Creative Lead Practitioner to:
- Lead self-evaluation within the Creative Department
- Lead the development and implementation of the Creative Department Improvement Plan
- Lead teaching and learning within the Creative Department, including co-ordinating staff appraisal and quality assurance of teaching and learning
- Lead the implementation of the Target-setting and Assessment policy within the Engineering Department
- Monitor students’ progress towards targets, identifying those who are underachieving and implementing effective intervention strategies to address the underachievement within the Creative department
- Lead the implementation of the Professional Values and Behaviours policy within the Creative Department
- Manage student welfare, child protection and anti-bullying procedures effectively within the Creative Department
- Manage the Creative departmental budget and resources effectively to maximise impact on teaching and learning and provide value for money
- Ensure that the allocation and use of accommodation within the Creative department provides a positive and safe learning environment that promotes the highest achievement for all
