Who you are?
The Maintenance Controller is responsible for all scheduled and reactive maintenance activities for all commercial vehicles within their regional area. They will work closely with the Senior and Regional Transport Managers & wider Compliance Team to drive continual improvement across M Group Services.

As the Maintenance Controller, you’ll get the opportunity to:
- Be responsible for the compliance of scheduled & reactive maintenance activities of commercial vehicles in line with Operator Licence, Legal Undertakings, DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness & M Group Services Transport Operations Policies.
- Be responsible for ensuring commercial vehicles in your regional area of responsibility are on Key2, vehicle maintenance schedule is set up, maintenance records and events are monitored and compliant, including PMI, MOT’s & RFL expiry dates.
- Ensure all commercial vehicles are scheduled & reactive maintenance activities have been allocated to relevant Internal/External maintenance providers, POs raised, all work completed, job closed, labour, parts costs, and compliance paperwork uploaded accurately onto the Fleet Management System (Key Two).
- Build a cohesive & collaborative working relationship with customers and drivers in your regional area, Line Manager & wider compliance team, to deliver the highest standard in relation to commercial vehicle maintenance & compliance.
- Demonstrate you can effectively deal on the phone, email or in person with supply chain partners, customers, and drivers in relation to commercial vehicle maintenance activities, ensuring process is followed and work completed in line with service level agreements
- Setting up any new maintenance suppliers to support your regional area, ensuring you follow the process & implementing monthly meetings with external maintenance providers to build a strong & collaborative working relationship
What you’ll bring?
- Competency and knowledge of DVSA’s guide to maintaining roadworthiness, have experience of working within a transport environment, managing commercial vehicle maintenance activities.
- Capability to take ownership/responsibility, demonstrated though actions/ behaviours
- Customer focused, have excellent communication skills, and be committed to deliver high standards of customer service
- IT qualifications, experience and working knowledge of (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word) & Key 2, have excellent key board skills and accuracy when imputing date.
- Must have a category B Driving Licence and be prepared to attend training as required to ensure continued development.
