Senior Product Managers possess an unwavering focus on identifying and enhancing customer value, coupled with a strategic approach to transforming these insights into sustainable business success.
A successful Sr. Product Manager leads and manages multiple product areas within a brand. They not only excel at driving valuable product delivery but they have a vision for their product area and a plan for how to execute that vision. They can clearly articulate how their product roadmaps aligns with the brand product strategy and how their work will quantifiably impact their customers. A Sr. Product Manager owns the management of their product area roadmap and must have a clear understanding of the reasoning behind each decision, however they must consult their Brand Product Lead prior to making key changes to the roadmap. This person is directly engaging customers on a weekly basis to better understand the industry, painpoints, and how their product work can solve customer problems. A successful Sr. Product Manager will serve as a leading example of what exceptional product delivery embodies and drive their peers development. This role is the most senior position that is solely focused on product delivery in a product area or business unit without brand-wide responsibilities.
They have a keen understanding of the developer process. They possess an empathy for the iterative process of development and technical constraints but can also pull on their experience to push back when necessary.
Proficiency in Spanish would be advantageous, enabling effective communication with Spanish-speaking clients and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
The team's discovery practices are expertly guided, with a commitment to ensuring that team members clearly understand customer value areas, while also developing a business model that guarantees long-term success.
Owns planning, vision, and implementation of features for core business or multiple product areas
Provide regular input on overall product strategy and how team initiatives align with the overall product strategy
Develop an astute understanding of the industry including emerging trends, new available technologies, and addressable markets
Engage current and prospective customers to understand and analyze their needs, business practices, and future plans
Establish and align product roadmaps with the broader product strategy and find balance in delivery between long term investments, shorter term wins, and tech debt
Identify areas of improvement with your existing product area and fresh opportunities to thrill the market
Engage internal stakeholders to execute product releases and support the public narrative for product feature releases.
Deliver clear and comprehensive product requirements to provide guidance to the development team
Own the management and grooming of a product backlog ensuring tickets are ready to be pulled into upcoming sprints.
Engage sales, marketing, and customer support to capture customer feedback and to ensure prompt and seamless delivery to the market
Partake in the Scrum process and help drive effective scrum ceremonies including standups, grooming sessions, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Identify key success metrics for initiatives and ties those metrics to overall business metrics
Focus on customer value and identify MVP solutions that deliver on that value with the least amount of time, effort and risk
Identify and raise opportunities and risks to management
Contribute to customer-facing demos and sales and marketing initiatives with your deep product knowledge
Identify and eliminate low value work undertaken by their agile team
Engage with design, research, and development to clearly articulate customer pain points and build a process for effective problem solving
Ability to operate and engage with a product team with no supervision
Experience managing junior team members and developing product management skillsets
Ability to articulate and drive research and design needs in support of product decisions
Experience working with senior leadership across other company verticals including sales, marketing and customer support
Proven ability to deliver initiatives on time and on budget
Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
