We are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Product Engineer to join an Additive Manufacturing Division for our client based at their impressive site in Telford, this is a full-time, permanent position. Working within an impressive state of the art environment, this role offers a super opportunity to join a well-established company within a unique and interesting role.

The Role

This interesting role will become an integral part of the AM and will involve technical project management to support and uncover business opportunities. The role will also include providing knowledgeable engineering support ensuring that knowledge, technology and techniques are up to date and at the forefront of modern practices. Making sure they are applied to all resources and processes. A primary focus will be taking charge and fostering existing and prospective business ventures and proactively exploring possibilities whilst upholding existing partnerships.

Requirements within the role

• This role will maintain a thorough understanding of materials, process capabilities, applications and technical specifications related to 3D Printing Technologies
• Oversee departmental initiatives including enhancements in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Environment (SQCDE), product transfers, equipment and process introduction
• To effectively co-ordinate internal, external and company resources to attain project goals
• Act as initial point of contact for both current and prospective customers
• Create “request for quote” documents for prospective customers and current clients spanning a wide range of industries
• Using your commercial knowledge and sales skills, convert quotations into business deals through skilled negotiation.
• Generating fresh leads through diverse marketing initiatives, exhibitions, conferences and trade shows and transforming them into potential business prospects
• Utilise digital marketing platforms and coordinate brand promotion activities to generate potential leads
• Proficiently present the company’s offerings and long-term value to new clients by establishing expertise in the relevant processes and understanding the company’s capabilities and distinctions from other technologies
• Identify opportunities and report potential threats with the business
• Provide support to operations and the back office functions as necessary

Experience, Key Skills and Attributes

Qualifications & Experience

• Educated to Degree Level within a relevant subject Engineering or Scientific subject
• Demonstrable experience within a similar role
• In depth knowledge of Additive manufacturing is essential
• Previous experience within a Sales or commercial role as an Engineer is ideally what is required
• A strong team player with outstanding communication skills and a positive attitude and a customer centric approach
• An open mindset and the ability to build effective relationships

The working hours are:

• 08:15 – 17:00 Monday – Thursday and 08:15 – 12:15 Friday - After the successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, a hybrid working model can be considered.

Salary offered is £38,500 - £44 ,000 + Benefits
