Job description
The successful Electronics Engineer will oversee the Electrical and Electronics hardware design.
The role will involve:
- Electrical and Electronics hardware design.
- Fault finding and investigation of electronics hardware.
- Testing and test plan creation for electronics hardware.
- Contribute to product design reviews.
- Provide support to the rest of the team in the development of new products with regards to the manufacture and testing of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Liaise with contract electronics manufacturing (CEM) companies about the build and test of PCB assemblies, including:
- Collating and releasing manufacturing data.
- Assisting in the resolution of manufacturing issues.
- Experience in designing to FCC, IEC and EU EMC standards.
- Generation of engineering documentation.
- Preparation of test reports for management.
- Collecting data and analysing results and patterns.
- Recommending alternative strategies within electrical and electronics hardware product development.
To be successful in this role of Electronics Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
- To ensure success as an Electronics Engineer, you should have in-depth knowledge of electrical and electronics hardware design, a good eye for detail, and a can-do attitude.
- Experience with Altium designer is desired.
- Previous work with microcontrollers and motor drive systems.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Soldering and rework of PCBs - LSI and fine pitch e.g. TSSOP and 0402.
- Able to understand and use circuit diagrams.
- Able to build small circuits for test purposes on (e.g.) stripboard.
- Fault-finding to component level.
- Appreciation of electronics in a production environment, e.g. ESD precautions.
- Technical documentation / reporting using computer applications.
- Able to work off own initiative or as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with a hands-on approach.
