Job description
We are seeking to appoint an innovative and creative professional, to manage our established service in Warrington (Quadrant) working as a Mental Health Scheme Manager. The Quadrant has sixteen apartments, each with one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen, living room and dining room, and a wet room-style bathroom. The Quadrant provides accommodation alongside 24 hour support for people with complex mental health needs.
The main aim of this role is to provide effective, outcome based, community recovery for people with complex mental health needs. To regularly monitor, evaluate and develop the service, making sure systems are in place to ensure that the feedback and involvement of service users, their families, partner agencies and staff are fully incorporated. Working in the main Monday to Friday this role will have some need to cover Sleep Ins and weekend shifts as and when required. There are opportunities for continuous learning and development in this role.
Our primary purpose is to support the early and timely transition of individuals from hospital or medium-to-low secure settings into a community-based, high support service. All our services offer individual tenancies and 24/7 specialist support. We recognise the diversity and uniqueness of each person, and we ensure everyone is treated with respect and dignity – we see the individual beyond the diagnosis, and help them develop a personalised recovery plan.
A few things about you and your experience:
Already working in or previous experience of working in mental health services, preferably at the level of senior/team leader or above
Professional Qualification/NVQ Level 5 or NVQ 4 (or working towards) and a minimum of three years management experience
Be an effective leader, positively engaging with your team to deliver exceptional service, reviewing and setting improvement targets, balancing a coaching, support approach for staff teams.
Up to date with current thinking around effective models of intervention which support the principals of recovery - shifting the balance from medical intervention to a psycho-social perspective-with the confidence and ability to impart this to your team
Developing and maintaining good working relations with relevant agencies, keeping abreast of developments in local policy and services, as well as engaging with local community links with a view to identifying opportunities for service enhancement.
Proven experience in promoting a better understanding of mental health issues to both internal and external clients.
